Familiar to a wider audience since the 1980ΓÇÖs as the new illustrator for the Flash Gordon comic strips, Dwight Graydon Morrow (b. 1934) produced covers and black-and-white interior art for science fiction publications in the 1950ΓÇÖs and 1960ΓÇÖs. Like many scifi artists, Morrow began his art career in the comics, working with Atlas, Warren and other houses, and continues to work on comics projects. He brought his lively, though sometimes rough comics style and ΓÇ£pen and washΓÇ¥ technique to scifi book covers for Avon, Ballantine and Ace. He provided the artwork for The Illustrated Roger Zelazny (1978), and has been nominated for three Hugos.
